Dr.Clear Aligner x Shanghai Children's Foundation | Holding Hands, Caring Starts with Teeth!

On August 17, 2023, to address the oral health concerns of children from families where both parents serve as police officers or work in science and technology, a public welfare oral care initiative was officially launched. Co-organized by Shanghai Boen Group and Dr.Clear Aligner, with public welfare support from the Shanghai Children's Foundation, the campaign — "Holding Hands, Safe Homes, Caring Summer Care Classes Oral Health Education" — kicked off.


The Shanghai Children's Foundation (hereinafter referred to as the Foundation) was established in May 1981. Its mission is to safeguard children's health, nurture their growth, and support their dreams. Adhering to the principle of "Everything for children, for everything about children," the Foundation works to deliver tangible benefits and set exemplary standards for children, fostering the vibrant development of the city's children's welfare initiatives.

On the day of the ceremony, distinguished guests attended to witness the event, including Mr. Yu Weixing, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of the Shanghai Children's Foundation; leaders from the Political Department of the Jiading Branch of the Shanghai Public Security Bureau; Ms. Hao Mingjie, Chief Financial Officer of Boen Group; Ms. Zhu Yujing, General Manager of Dr.Clear Aligner; and Mr. Lin Lin, Director of Shanghai Aiya Jiazheng Dental Clinic and Grace Dental Clinic.

△ Mr. Yu Weixing

In his speech, Mr. Yu Weixing emphasized that children are the future of our nation, and their health is a vital indicator of social progress. In 2021, 23 national agencies, including the National Development and Reform Commission, jointly issued the "Guiding Opinions on Advancing the Construction of Child-Friendly Cities." In 2022, the "Shanghai Implementation Plan for Building a Child-Friendly City" was released, setting the goal of "basically establishing a happy, vibrant city that is friendly to children and all people by 2025, and becoming a leading, internationally renowned child-friendly city by 2035." The "Holding Hands" children's oral health public welfare project is a contribution to Shanghai's efforts in building a child-friendly city.

△ Ms. Hao Mingjie


Ms. Hao Mingjie, CFO of Boen Group, stated that Boen Group is a comprehensive smart healthcare platform serving 200,000 dental professionals, with 20 brands and 8 manufacturing facilities under its umbrella. We have always been committed to empowering dentists and making dental care accessible and affordable for the public. We are eager to contribute to society and actively participate in children's public welfare initiatives.

△ Donation Ceremony


Ms. Zhu Yujing, General Manager of Dr.Clear Aligner, and Mr. Yu Weixing, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of the Shanghai Children's Foundation, jointly completed the donation ceremony. Boen Group and Dr.Clear Aligner, in collaboration with several dental clinics across Shanghai, including Aiya Dental, Meiwei Dental, and Arrail Dental, donated 1,300 oral health care cards with a total value of approximately RMB 777,400, providing free oral screenings for children and parents in the summer care classes.

The attending leaders and guests presented gift packs to all the children present, hoping they would develop good oral hygiene habits from an early age.

Mr. Lin Lin, Director of Shanghai Aiya Jiazheng Dental Clinic and Grace Dental Clinic, vividly explained the "8020" slogan to the children. He noted that children are the future of our nation and their health is of utmost importance. He encouraged everyone to remember the "8020" goal: by the age of 80, to still have 20 natural, pain-free, functional teeth. Teeth must be well cared for — let's all strive for "8020"!

△ Educational Session


Children carry the hopes of their parents and the future of our nation. Education must start from a young age, and oral health is no exception. In the next segment, Ms. Ke Meng, Head of the Aiya Pediatric Dental Program, combined education with entertainment, using interactive games and props to deliver a concise yet engaging oral health lesson. She taught the children proper toothbrushing techniques, encouraging all of them to participate actively and internalize the correct brushing motions through hands-on practice. She hoped every child would continue to maintain good oral hygiene at home with consistency.

Following the educational session, all children received professional oral examinations from the Aiya dental team, with results recorded on their individual cards. Based on each child's oral condition, the medical staff provided practical recommendations, urging both children and parents to take oral health seriously. Oral health is a lifelong commitment — only by prioritizing it early can we ensure a high-quality oral environment for years to come.

Children's oral health is not only related to the natural development of the oral cavity and closely linked to overall systemic health, but it also significantly impacts their psychological well-being.


Common oral habits in children — such as thumb sucking, tongue thrusting, lip biting, pencil chewing, mouth breathing, nighttime teeth grinding, and unilateral chewing — can lead to misaligned teeth and even jaw deformities. These habits should be addressed as early as possible. For children with mouth breathing habits, it is important to check for upper airway obstruction, treat any respiratory conditions, and correct the habit promptly. If dental or jaw abnormalities are detected during the primary dentition phase or the mixed dentition transition period, timely professional consultation is essential — a dentist should evaluate whether early orthodontic intervention is needed.


Through this "Holding Hands" public welfare initiative, we call on everyone — young and old alike — to prioritize their oral health. Don't let minor dental issues escalate into serious problems by neglecting them.
