On October 21, the Children's Whole-Period Early Orthodontic Treatment Roadshow and Summit, hosted by the national orthodontic brand Dr.Clear Aligner, concluded successfully in Beijing.
This Dr.Clear Children's Whole-Period Early Orthodontic Treatment Roadshow was honored to invite former Head of Orthodontics at the University of Hong Kong Faculty of Dentistry, Professor Urban Hagg, Dr. Sun Haiyan, who holds a PhD in Orthodontics from the Fourth Military Medical University, and Mr. Lin Hengzhe, Medical Director of Dr.Clear Aligner, to share professional insights on children's whole-period early orthodontic treatment. In addition, Dr. Xu Baohua, Director of the Stomatology Center at China-Japan Friendship Hospital, Ministry of Health, and Dr. Fu Jianhong, Orthodontic Technology Director of Arrail Dental North China, also attended to lend their support.

Before the roadshow officially began, Dr. Xu Baohua, Director of the Stomatology Center at China-Japan Friendship Hospital, Ministry of Health, noted in his opening remarks that he studied under Professor Hagg, who has mentored numerous orthodontists in China. These professors have significantly advanced the development of orthodontics in China.
Dr. Xu emphasized that different types of malocclusion have different etiologies and growth patterns, and each patient has an optimal treatment timing that cannot be generalized. Early treatment should be approached with a scientific mindset.

In the morning, former Head of Orthodontics at the University of Hong Kong Faculty of Dentistry, Professor Urban Hagg, delivered a keynote on "Class III Malocclusion Correction During Growth and Development." He noted that patients with Class III malocclusion typically present with anterior crossbite, posterior crossbite, mandibular protrusion, and maxillary retrusion.
For the treatment of Class III malocclusion, it is essential to comprehensively consider the patient's age, severity of the condition, and craniofacial growth status. The goal of treatment is to improve dental occlusion, adjust jaw position and morphology, and thereby restore facial profile and oral function.
Throughout the treatment process, it is important to consider the patient's perspective and compliance, designing appropriate treatment plans that address current needs while also anticipating and resolving future challenges, achieving a well-balanced approach.
Drawing from numerous real clinical cases, Professor Hagg provided attendees with treatment approaches from various perspectives, resolving complexities in challenging cases and broadening the participants' orthodontic thinking.

He stated that for Class III cases, Dr.Clear can utilize various tools and treatment designs, combined with the new Dr.Clear invisible bite ramps, invisible expanders, and invisible reverse-pull facemask, along with Dr.Clear's reinforced aligners with real gingival algorithm, maxillary centroid, and AI diagnostics, to systematically, procedurally, and intelligently resolve related issues.
Dr.Clear's specially launched GroForce Growth Modification Solution for Class III Cases in Children and Adolescents aims to encourage the full utilization of Dr.Clear products to bring confident smiles to more children, illuminating the future of facial management for Chinese children.

Dr. Sun Haiyan, who holds a PhD in Orthodontics from the Fourth Military Medical University, delivered a keynote on "Class II Malocclusion Correction During Growth and Development," highlighting the high prevalence of this malocclusion among adolescents and its profound impact on oral health, facial aesthetics, and even psychological well-being.
During her presentation, Dr. Sun emphasized the importance of early intervention. She noted that for children in the pre-peak growth phase, the application of different types of appliances can effectively promote mandibular growth and improve the disharmony between the upper and lower jaws, thereby preventing or mitigating Class II malocclusion. She also introduced the application of functional orthodontic appliances, fixed functional appliances, clear aligners, and other traditional and modern orthodontic techniques in Class II treatment, comparing their respective advantages, disadvantages, and indications.
Additionally, Dr. Sun shared a wealth of clinical cases from her practice, using vivid images and video materials to visually demonstrate the outcomes of different treatment approaches and long-term follow-up results.
These cases not only deepened the attendees' understanding of Class II malocclusion correction techniques but also inspired enthusiasm for exploring new technologies and methods in orthodontics.
